Visitation of Nixi Paewe II

Visitation of Nixi Paewe is a three-part series created between 2019 and 2020, born from Alexa Maithé's recurring dreams of a cosmic, translucent vine-like serpent—a rainbow serpent that repeatedly appeared within her subconscious.

During her first expedition to El Remate, Petén, Guatemala, these visions became the starting point for the first work of the trilogy. The series draws from the powerful landscape of northern Guatemala, where bodies of water, jungle, serpentine forms, dreams, and the ancient Maya world converge.

Across the three works, Alexa explores the feeling of being visited by something beyond the visible world—a dreamlike encounter between the subconscious, nature, and the ancestral presence of the Maya landscape.

Visitation of Nixi Paewe becomes a visual journey through water, jungle, serpent energy, and the mysterious territories that exist between dreams, memory, and waking reality.
